After thorough selections at the school level, 7 teams from Delhi Public School Bangalore North, comprising 14 students, were selected to participate in the state level debate competition organized by the Verbattle Foundation at Garden City College. Out of 81 teams from various zones of Karnataka, two students from DPSBN, Isha Mahajan and Paroma Raha clinched a place for themselves in the Finals. The final Face off round saw team DPSBN fights it out with two other teams from The Yenepoya School. The topics ranged from-Gay marriages should be legalized, women are not responsible for crime against them, to politicians have ruined our democracy. Isha and Paroma stunned the audience at the Verbattle Finals with their wit, presence of mind, confidence and clarity of thought. They articulated their thoughts well and communicated their ideas convincingly to impress the judges and emerged winners. They walked away with a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000. It was a moment of pride to see the rolling trophy back at Delhi Public School Bangalore North. Mrs Pushpa Rithal [ TGT ,department of English] bagged the Best Mentor Award and a cash prize of Rs 10,000. The Management, Principal, Headmistress and staff of DPSBN applauded their victory.
