Nursery Sports Day

  • Published in Sports

A month long practice by Nursery children finally ended on March 1st which was their Sports Day. The tiny tots came to school in their respective costumes which made the entire campus colorful. The races were planned based on their E.V.S themes like fruits, birds, transport, animals etc. Parents were surprised to see their little ones handle the props so efficiently and encouraged them with applause. The drill by nursery children was a colorful feast to the eyes. In short the nursery sports day was a classic example of the saying “Practice makes things perfect”.

Primary Newsletter For March 2014

Children of late have become victims of stress. Stress related to performance in exams has become an unavoidable reality of children in schools. Large part of the stress is generated by the paranoiac expectation of parents from their wards. Stress manifests as anxiety in children which on many occasions is perceptible. Being fully aware of the causes and effects of this, it is our endeavour at DPS, Bangalore (North) to assuage the children’s apprehensions by devising a structured approach to this problem. Completion of syllabus in good time, revisions in classes, worksheets, special attention to children requiring the same and careful monitoring of each child are some of the methods adopted. Remedial classes too are conducted for academically weaker students to bring them at par with others.

Our endeavour is to prepare children for the long and arduous demands of life rather than the momentary performance blips of the immediate future.

Student Exchange Program

GLOBAL OUTLOOK

International School Award : Our school has been awarded with the International School Award from the British Council for the years 2012-15.  This was a whole school project wherein children from different age groups were exposed to a curriculum incorporating international themes with different countries, thus helping them take a step towards becoming better global citizens.

Global School Partnership : Two worlds together are a lot stronger than one; because there is always another world that they can rely on.” Student's poem inspired by Connecting Classrooms, Nova Hreod College, Swindon

Connecting Classrooms  : A global education programme designed to help the young learners understand global themes and become responsible global citizens. Delhi Public School, Bangalore North is into its third year of partnership with Broomstone Primary School, Kent (UK).Continuous exchange of views on culture, global issues aims to build a more sustainable world through various projects, forms the basis of this programme.

German Exchange Programme : Since 2009 DPS Bangalore North has been involved in a student exchange programme with Nikolaus Kopernikus Gymnasium, Weissenhorn. Delhi Public School Bangalore North organises every year an Indo - German exchange program. It provides the young, curious and motivated minds of both countries an opportunity to immerse in each other's cultures by living with host families and attending the school in host country. This exchange program promotes the reciprocal understanding and interpersonal relationship taking the young students on the path of becoming global citizens.

French Exchange Programme : With diminishing boundaries and growing multilateral ties, the world has become a global village.

Taking this global relationship a step closer, ‘FRENDIA’ is the Indo French Exchange programme conceptualized by DPS Bangalore North.  DPS BN is one of the fore runners in successfully executing an Indo French Exchange programme in the country.  This is a vibrant cultural exchange programme in liaison with St. Augustin, Augers, France.  The emphasis of this programme is to take the learning of the languages beyond the classroom.  The primary focus is the exposure of students to different life styles and cultures while overcoming language barriers at a young age. This programme is offered to students between grades VII to XI even to those who have not opted for French in the curriculum.
