Schools today are no longer confined to classroom instructions. We at DPS, Bangalore (North) believe that a school should endeavour to focus beyond academic lessons and qualifications. The essence of life’s essential skills are drawn when students interact in team games. This interaction consequently metamorphoses into cross fertilization of ideas, a healthy competitive spirit and collaborative work.
To pave the way for such non-cognitive learning, it is our endeavour to design and organize activity based curriculum with a host of inter/intra class competitions and activities to support formal learning.
These activities include literary activities such as debates, dramatics, poster making, dance, card making, storytelling, poem recitation, mental math, quiz, art & craft, yoga, Mass PT etc. They provide the requisite platform for enriching their learning experiences, thereby enhancing their opportunity to participate in a broad spectrum of activities. Homework too would be reduced to a minimal quantum. All this, undoubtedly, furthers the holistic development of the students.
To accommodate the entire spectrum of activities within the curricula of the school we perforce are constrained to extend the school timing. It has hence been decided to extend the school time to 3.10pm. As a welcome consolation, we are glad to inform you that the school would only work for five days in a week. Saturdays and Sundays would be a fine detuning experience for all.
